07/17/23 – It is so hard to believe that it has been 15 years since my first Mantle Cell Lymphoma diagnosis. On July 17, 2008, I was 47 years old… told that I had an aggressive cancer called Mantle Cell Lymphoma… a cancer that had a track record as being very difficult to treat… but next came meeting Dr. Andre Goy… being accepted in his clinical trial… as we fast forward through 2 relapses, a stem cell transplant… and here I am, at the age of 62… Mantel Cell Lymphoma sitting it the distance of my rear-view mirror… and now, 15 years later I have been gifted the joy of meeting 2 grandchildren with one more on the way… I have been gifted the many more years with my beautiful family and wonderful friends… Do I dare say that I am actually thinking and putting plans in place for transitioning into retirement in a few short years??? This is something that I have always been hesitant to say out loud, thinking I would be counting my chickens before they hatch… but the reality is I am healthy and feeling great… I am so thankful for everything I have… I feel so blessed… I truly know all I have is gifted to me from God.
